Hello I am scentedLight, I am a 21-year-old university student studying Biology. Thanks for checking out my web page! Throughout my life, I was always interested in programming and computer science. However, I never went down this path either in school or as a passion. When I was 13-15 I instead decided that I wanted to purse an education in the sciences and eventually biology. For my hobbies and passion I found respite in music, playing various wind instruments like the harmonica and the saxophone.
I recently watched a YouTube video: The Brainrot Apocalypse (a DIY survival guide) by struthless. They recommended looking at the NeoCities Website and so began a renewed interest in specifically webdesign.
Overall I would like to share content about stuff I read, and stuff I learned. Mainly ideas in the sciences, or music, and perhaps a smattering of blog posts philosophy identity.

When I was younger I was never particularly interested in biology, I was mostly interested in the more concrete fields of physics and math. However, as time passed on and the complexity of math and physics began to tire me, biology with more abstract ideas, and interesting conclusions drew me into the subject. By the end of Secondary School I opted to completely ditch learning physics and focus more on biology and nurturing a strong foundation in chemistry.
My passion for biology really came alive after I entered Junior College, exploring the ideas more in-depth and independently, let me develop and think about interactions between the concepts taught. At the time I was amazed with the things that I realised and concluded on my own. I really resonated with biology, feeling close to it in a strange way, almost intimate. So this was one of the reasons why I continue to learn and study about it today!
Gender has actually been a pretty strange thing for me, I never really once questioned it until recently. I was raised to be a boy, a man, and I did not really have any issues with that. Though there a few times when I was younger where I displayed a few feminine traits and behaviours, though scoldings and talks grew out of most of these behaviours.
Only until 2024 did I start to realise that there might be more to gender and self-expression than I thought, and so I began my gender identity discovery as a trans woman. yay <(^w^<)!!
Other than my current interest in web development and writing, I have been engaged with music for quite some time -- Though I do not post. I have played several wind instruments like the flue, saxophone, and harmonicas!
I have also been using Linux as my daily operating system for almost 3 years on my T480 ThinkPad. Though it may seem like a long time I am still only just a script-kiddle and I actually do not know much in the way of navigating most of the commandline tools. I am so glad that I invested in this needlessly over-speced hardware. Though not completely optimised, I am happy to say that this computer has served me well enough over the years. The only gripe I have is that for the life of me I cannot get some of my games and applications to run properly, like Skyrim, KdenLive, and I cannot set the PATH or SymLinks right for Rofi to run them. :(
